What happened to you this year? I don’t mean the various events per se, but what was God doing in your life? Are you closer to Him than you were last year at this time? Did you have some major spiritual changes or was this one of those treadmill years? Are you looking forward to the New Year or dreading it?

As you enter the New Year, take some time to pray and ponder and plan. Pray that God will draw you closer and that you will hunger more for Him in the next twelve months. Ponder all that has happened over the last twelve months and ask God what it means and how He wants you to use it. Plan for a new year that sets you squarely in the center of God’s will and advances His kingdom upon the earth.

God’s word says; “Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). Keep your eyes and ears wide open so you can see the great and wonderful things God will do in your life next. I don’t know what difficulties or obstacles you may have in the coming months but I do know that the Lord will be with you through every minute of them whatever they are. Count on Him!
