Christmas Eve – Luke 4:18

Wake Up Call

As we come down to the final hours of preparation for this Christmas I find myself wondering about a lot of things. Yes, I’m wondering if I forgot any gift or any ingredient I need for all my holiday cooking. Yes, I’m wondering how the family Christmas will go this year because we are doing something completely different for our gift exchange. But I’m really wondering other things too.

With only one week left in the year I also wonder about all of you, my readers. Some of you have had a good year and some a sad or troubling one. There are some of you that have experienced sickness of body or soul. Others are starting to see God’s wonderful plan for your life and you are starting to move in it.

Each of you can join the Wise Men from the East around the manger and put fresh hope once again in Jesus. Here is what he says about himself:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18)

What part of that do you need? For this Christmas, may you experience ALL of it. Merry Christmas! Peace and joy to you!
