Take Good Notes

Wake Up Call

For those who like to rely on logic and reasoning everything out in their mind, this quote is probably a stretch: When your heart speaks take good notes. Really though, our true heart is often the more accurate of the two.

Isn’t it unfortunate that we sometimes ignore what our heart is saying? Like the letter I recently received from a person who could sense the presence of something evil in a house she was considering buying. She proceeded with the sale and ignored her heart and now there is great regret for a decision it would be hard to undo.

Proverbs 2:2 gives us this great truth. “Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding.” In order to do that you have to stop and LISTEN. How hard is that when the brain is busy calculating everything like a computer program?

I say, be quiet enough to catch on when your heart decides to speak up. The heart probably won’t be the loudest voice so you must be prepared to shush all the others. Get down to the place of trusting that what you hear in your innermost heart is authentic.

Pay attention. Our hearts are speaking more than we realize. And when that happens its certainly wise to do what the quote says. Got paper and pencil ready? Take good notes.
