Do you know your blood type? If you don’t and you needed blood for any reason you’d probably find out fast enough. Next you would hope that there was no shortage of your particular type. Every once in awhile the Red Cross puts out pleas for blood when they start to get dangerously low. After all we can’t live without blood; it’s a precious commodity.
A transfusion can save our life. That’s true as much for the soul as the body. Think about this: Jesus donated his blood (all of it’not just a pint) so we could get the transfusion we need. “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.”(Romans 5:9)
Besides justifying us he provided for our peace, “having made peace through the blood of His cross”(Colossians 1:20) He even made place for our healing: “And by His scourging we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) As you think about it, is there any human need that the blood of Jesus does not meet?
What’s the best part? The best part is that his blood is available 24/7, there is no expiration date and the supply will never decrease by even a drop. It’s the only blood bank in the world that runs at full capacity all the time. What good news if you need to make a withdrawal.
What do you need? Forgiveness? Restoration? Freedom? Healing? Peace? Joy? Ask for the blood of Jesus to cover it. Why should you have any lack when heaven has a blood bank?
