Start Over Again – Psalm 63:1

Wake Up Call

I was wondering if anyone out there sort of let their relationship with the Lord lapse during the past year? You know how it is with good friends you don’t see for awhile. Though there is nothing really wrong, they eventually take a back seat and gradually the deep caring and intimacy fade.

Are you waking up every morning freshly in love with your divine Bridegroom or has the relationship grown a little stale? Is the heart cooled? Prayer dropped off, Bible reading diminished? Take stock now and do something before coolness freezes and real hardness sets in.

Nothing works so well for a fading romance as a great date. You need special time alone with no distractions. You need to put your eyes only on your beloved and give Him your undivided attention. Put on some praise music and share your whole heart and soul with your Lord. If there is some little “tiff” you have had with God, get to the root of it now. God can handle our anger, doubt or frustration but our silence really grieves Him.

Let this be your prayer once more: “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land” (Psalm 63:1). If you have neglected God recently, don’t delay any longer. Start over again.
