What Do You See?
Since the Bible says we are battling unseen forces, you might wonder how you can fight what you can’t see. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) Yet even unseen, the dark forces leave a visible trail wherever they mettle.
Take a quick inventory and evidence will begin to pop up all over. What in your life, your church, your community, your country does NOT match up with God’s Word? Do you live in a country where it is illegal to mention the name of Jesus or share the gospel? Laws hostile to the gospel reveal the enemy’s hand.
Do you have reoccurring illnesses or problems such as financial distress? Is your church splitting or filled with dissention and gossip? Are Adult Bookstores rampant in your city? What’s the crime rate? Are some neighborhoods run down and filthy? These are all evidence.
To the extent that Satan’s kingdom rules you will see it. The opposite is also true. Where God’s principles are in place you will see order and blessing. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to be soldiers in his great army. There are battle strategies for victory but none of them work if we don’t recognize the battleground around us.
Before you start fighting open your eyes. What do you see?
