Walk About – Joshua 1:3

Wake Up Call

“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.” (Joshua 1:3) Even though that was a promise to Joshua and the Israelites as they entered Canaan, it is worth pondering for ourselves.

Where does your sole tread? You probably have a workplace that you walk into every day. You have home turf with family and a neighborhood around your house. What about your church; wherever you shop; that golf course you play; the companies you do business with? I bet your sole is treading on a whole bunch of territory every week.

Does it belong to you? Yes. It is where you have been placed by divine appointment. You aren’t just meandering around in life, aimlessly wandering with no purpose or direction. You can claim your territory for the kingdom of God. In fact, isn’t that exactly why the Lord has placed you there?

How do you execute that plan? Be conscious everywhere you go that you are an ambassador for Christ. Act like one. With faith, speak blessings over all that is under your influence and control. Pray: “Kingdom of God, COME. Will of God, BE DONE, here as it is in heaven” (Applying the Lord’s Prayer to real life.) Claim God’s best for “every place on which the sole of your foot treads.”

Remember, God owns it all, and if He says it’s yours, who can contradict him? Have a great walk about!
