Would you like to say that you have the Lord’s strong support? That God looks at your life and continuously finds ways to uphold you and favor you and promote you? That his eyes are smiling with approval as he views your work and your goals? That he is your greatest cheerleader?

God wants that too. Here’s how I know: “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (2 Chronicles 16:9). He is on the lookout constantly for those trustworthy of His strong support.

What exactly is He looking for which will indicate one whose heart is completely His? I think He is looking for faithfulness first in the small things. Integrity in the details. Such things as faithfully giving even when money is tight. Doing a kindness that will not be rewarded. Holding your tongue while others gossip. Honoring a promise that is inconvenient.

When God sees faithfulness in the small things He knows He can trust that one with more. A heart anchored in Him is less likely to be sidetracked or get out of balance when He hands out greater blessings and says: “You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things” (Matthew 25:23).

Right now God’s eyes are moving all over the earth. He is looking for those He can strongly support. What will He find when His eyes rest on you?
