Seeing Clearly – Proverbs 16:25

Wake Up Call

When thinking is distorted it is very difficult to make right decisions. For instance, a person suffering from bulimia looks into the mirror and sees a fat person. “I must stop eating. I must lose weight” the person falsely reasons. So they base their decisions on something that is not true and they may actually lose their life because of it.

Proverbs 16:25 says; “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” We must get past what “seems” right to what actually IS right. That way our decisions will be like straight arrows, hitting the bull’s eye of truth. How can we do this?

Jesus said; “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock” (Matthew 7:24).

Our thinking is distorted every time we are not thinking and seeing like Jesus. But when we do think and see like Him we are building our life on a rock that will stand. Yes, I can hear you say, but taking the Jesus view is easier said than done. That’s right. So don’t waste another minute looking in a distorted mirror. Determine to start seeing clearly NOW.
