Don’t you think that living on this earth at this time can be a little confusing? Look only at the political events going on around the world! Who can understand all that is happening and more importantly, who can understand “why”? Where is it all going? How shall we interpret our times?

There are spiritual gifts poured out to the church by the Holy Spirit which give us insight and wisdom for our day. In this case I’m particularly thinking of the gift of prophecy. 1 Corinthians 14:1 says; “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophecy.” I can see why it says “especially”. The prophet is God’s mouthpiece. The prophet cuts to the chase and tells it like it really is so that the confusion gives way to clarity.

Does God really want us to have the inside track on our world? Yes! He says in Amos 3:7; “Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” Okay, that sounds good to me. In case the Lord is looking for a few more people to share what’s on his heart I want him to know: I can keep secrets!
