Who Dares Assail You? – Isaiah 54:15

Wake Up Call

Ever have something bad happen in your life and wonder how you got black listed by God? Oh, you might not have expressed it that way and maybe you dared not even speak it aloud. BUT, deep in your heart, there it was.

After all, it´s a fine line we walk between God´s sovereignty over events and the wiles of the devil wrecking havoc for us and whatever decisions we make on our own which lead to disaster. Well, when something bad happens, which is it?

True enough that nothing happens to us without God´s permission. Ultimately, God is omnipotent; all-powerful. Yet, evil is not from God and he never plans bad things for us. NEVER. I say it so strongly because he says it himself: “If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me.” (Isaiah 54:15)

The heart of God is always good toward us. He takes no pleasure in our unhappiness, grief, catastrophe, collapse or tragedy. Permission is not approval like we often think. In fact, there is always a silver lining, which God providentially plans along with any evil that comes our way.

Really, in addition to God using any evil for good, the very evil schemed will bring down the perpetrator. Listen to the verse following the one above: “Whoever assails you will fall because of you.” Ultimately you won´t suffer but your enemy will.

With that in mind, you might want to serve notice to anyone who dares assail you anytime soon. They will only be assuring their own downfall.
