An article I just read reports that the antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the news lately is flourishing almost EVERYWHERE. It can be picked up on keyboards, doorknobs, and loose change — all without directly touching another person who has it.
Since that is the case, why aren’t more people sick? Clearly, some people are in contact with it but they never know it and never come down with the dreaded infection. Why not? Well, I’m sure there are lots of reasons having to do with the person’s own health system or — honestly, how would I know? I’m not a scientist.
Still, when I finished reading the newspaper I couldn’t help but think of a particular scripture. “You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in the darkness (of the doorknob?) or of the destruction that lays waste at noon” (Psalm 91:55-6).
If there are various physical reasons someone doesn’t get sick, could we throw a spiritual reason into the mix too? I think we could. Perhaps those enwrapped in the protection of the Lord don’t have to put up with various diseases, ailments or even deadly bacterial infections.
The Lord says; “‘Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him'” (Verse 14). Do you love the Lord? Then He will deliver you. Why should YOU get sick? CLAIM IMMUNITY!
